Lovely house on the peninsula of Hindsholm

Located on the beautiful peninsula of Hindsholm, Æblehaven or “The Apple Garden” is a newly renovated house ( about 100 years old) with 3 bedrooms. Apple Garden is part of a working, organic farm, but is completely private with its own park-like setting. Nearby are orchards and a few small pastures with our free-range pigs (no smell, no flies but maybe the occasional grunt or oink 😊). When in season, there are apples, pears, plums and walnuts there for your enjoyment.

The house

The spacious, bright house has a new kitchen and bath. There are new comfortable furnishings throughout with some additional touches. The 3 double bedrooms are on the first floor and there is a pullout sofa in one of the living rooms. The fully equipped kitchen with stove, dishwasher, fridge/freezer opens out to a large dining area with views of the garden. Please note that during the summer months of July and August, there is a maximum stay of one week.

Location

Apple Garden is situated in the heart of the peninsula, Hindsholm, with its rolling hills, charming villages and lovely beaches. Apple Garden is a 5 minute drive to 2 swimming beaches - Bøgebjergstrand is on the east side and Bogensøstrand is on the west - so have choice depending on the wind direction. The natural beauty of Fynshoved, with great walking trails, is just 7 km. north. The town of Kerteminde, where you will find Johannes Larsen’s Museum, Great Northern Golf Course and shops is 14 km. to the south. The main city on the island of Fyn, Odense is a 35 minute drive.

I love saying to our guests “Welcome to Hindsholm!” I have lived on this beautiful peninsula for 25 years, and proud to tell visitors the places I hold dear - the beaches (great swimming ) ; the coastline, where you can walk for kilometers scanning the stones for fossils and other treasures; the quaint villages, with traditional farms; our organic farm, where we have our happy pigs running freely in the fields and other hidden secrets. This kind of sums up the person I am - enjoying the outdoors and hosting guests! Oh yes, I’m Canadian, so English isn’t a problem og jeg også taler Dansk.
